What to Expect at Cornerstone Family Chiropractic
Your experience begins with a phone conversation with someone from our team. They’ll ask what’s bringing you in, confirm it’s something we can help with, and schedule your first two appointments.
The cost for both visits is disclosed upfront and covers everything through your second appointment.
You’ll receive paperwork before your first visit to complete ahead of time.
Your First Visit
Your first visit is focused on gathering information. No adjustment is given, and no treatment plan is presented yet. We need to see what we’re working with first.
1. Consultation and History
You’ll sit down with us for an in-depth conversation about what’s been going on. We’ll primarily listen at this stage, letting you explain your full history and what’s bringing you in.
2. Physical Exam and Measurements
This includes a detailed physical examination with postural assessment, weight distribution analysis, spinal palpation to identify areas of concern, and leg length assessment. A chiropractic assistant helps with measurements and data entry throughout the process.
3. Digital X-Rays
If needed, we take full spine X-rays in-house using our digital imaging system. This includes X-rays of your spine (neutral position, head forward, head back) that show what standard X-rays miss.
What happens between visits: Your X-rays are reviewed by Dr. Tim and sent to a DACBR-credentialed radiologist for evaluation. The radiologist’s report typically comes back the same day.
First visit duration: 45 minutes
Your Second Visit: Report of Findings
This is where we will show you what we see, and how we can help you make positive changes in your life.
Review Process
We review your history from the first visit for accuracy, then walks you through your X-rays side by side — yours compared to what a healthy structure looks like. You’ll see a degeneration chart on the wall that helps explain what’s happening in your spine.
Visual Explanation
You’ll see for yourself what’s locked up, what’s shifting, and how long it’s been building. We’ll explains the findings using your actual X-rays with annotations, so you understand exactly what’s happening in your body.
Care Plan Presentation
Based on your specific findings, we’ll explain:
- How often you’d need to come initially (typically starts at 3x per week, then tapers to 2x per week, then reduces further)
- What the timeline looks like (usually months, not weeks)
- When we’d schedule progress re-exams with new x-rays to measure changes
- What home exercises might support the process (they support healing but don’t replace adjustments)
Care Moving Forward
Adjustment Visits
Typical adjustment visits are brief, 5-10 minutes in and out. You’ll check in at the front desk, receive your adjustment, and be on your way. Our office has tea, water, and mints available, as well as a variety of music. The environment is designed to feel like a sanctuary rather than a clinical setting.
Progress Re-Exams
You’ll see for yourself what’s locked up, what’s shifting, and how long it’s been building. We’ll explain what’s found using your actual X-rays with annotations, so you understand exactly what’s happening in your body.
What to Expect
Healing is a journey. Some days you’ll feel great. Some days you might feel sore or have temporary setbacks. The overall trend is what matters, not day-to-day fluctuations.
Change takes time and repetition when you’re addressing decades of dysfunction. Your body needs time to adapt, heal, and stabilize. We’ll support you throughout the process and measure your progress at every stage.
Common Questions, Transparent Answers
This is corrective care focused on structural transformation, not symptom management. It works best for people who want to fundamentally improve their quality of life and are willing to commit to the process that requires.
You should be ready to be an active participant in your care; willing to understand what’s happening in your body, show up consistently for adjustments, and recognize that your body is the one doing the healing. We meet you where you are, but we can’t do the work for you.
This isn’t quick-fix care. If you’re looking for someone to “crack you where it hurts” and send you on your way, this isn’t the right fit. We look at your whole spine, not just where you feel pain.
We’re a direct pay office, which means we don’t bill insurance directly. This means better care for you. The fee for your first two visits is disclosed upfront.
We can provide a superbill for reimbursement up to your policy limits if your insurance covers out-of-network chiropractic care. This allows us to focus on what actually produces results rather than what insurance will authorize.
If insurance coverage is essential for you to move forward with care, we will let you know during your initial phone call.
If you’ve experienced quick, in-and-out adjustments at other offices, our approach will feel very different. We take a comprehensive look at your entire spine before beginning any treatment. We use digital x-ray technology and motion analysis to ensure we understand exactly what’s happening structurally.
The question Dr. Tim often asks is: “Are you open to looking at this differently?”
If you’re willing to experience a more thorough evaluation process and commit to a transformation-focused approach rather than symptom management, we’d be happy to work with you.
We always schedule a final re-exam at the completion of your corrective care plan, regardless of the timeline. You’ll see side-by-side comparison x-rays showing the structural changes that have occurred.
At that point, you’ll decide if you want to continue with wellness chiropractic care to support the corrections you’ve made.
