Are you or someone you love among the 40% of Americans who make New Year’s Resolutions? If so, chances are good that at least one of those resolutions has to do with a health-related goal.

Perhaps you or your loved one intend to achieve this goal by making healthier food choices, exercising more frequently, quitting unhealthy habits, or overcoming an addiction. These actions can have a very positive impact on your health and wellbeing. However, research from the University of Scranton suggests that just 8% of people achieve their New Year’s goals. In our years of experience caring for patients my staff and I have found that it’s usually not a lack of desire or determination that keeps people from sticking to their resolutions, but barriers to taking positive actions, such as chronic illness, fatigue, stress, and pain.

These barriers make it nearly impossible to construct the foundation of healthy habits and routines that will be necessary for achieving your goals. You’ll need a solid cornerstone on which to rebuild your health and develop support to overcome your barriers. Chiropractic is this cornerstone.

Chiropractic care supports your nervous system, the connections through which your brain and the rest of your body communicate with each other. A chiropractic adjustment corrects a vertebral subluxation in the spine. A vertebral subluxation is the result of spinal bones with improper motion or position affecting nerve communications between the brain and the body. When those signals are improved, the brain’s function and chemistry changes, improving the overall wellbeing and function of the body. This is why many of our patients receiving regular chiropractic care report drastic improvements in their health and wellbeing, including improved energy levels, focus, and relief of stress and/or pain that allowed them to finally achieve their health-related resolutions and other life goals.

If you make one resolution for your health this year, let it be to start or continue chiropractic care. With chiropractic as your cornerstone, you’ll give your body the care and support you need to achieve your best health, function, and vitality.  Make sure to visit and “Like” our Facebook page for our latest news, info, and tips to support your wellbeing throughout 2018.
